ECHOING UJUMCHIN PASTURE

Oil on canvas        80 x 70cm         2022

How did this picture up about?

Oil painting is a kind of realistic painting. The sketching techniques I practiced in the high School attached to the Academy of Fine Arts have enriched my spiritual life for decades when I jumped the queue in the Mandu Ranch of East Ujumchin Banner and even after returning to Beijing.

When I jumped the queue, I
sketched a lot of pastoral areas. After returning to Beijing, I also practiced model sketching in various studios. When I held exhibitions abroad, I also found time to sketch.

After the 1980s, there were various studios in Beijing, where I could paint portraits and even human body sketches. I did a lot of oil painting in Xu Beihong's studio, Hongda Body Painting Studio and several small studios in Songzhuang. One day in 2000, in a small studio in Songzhuang, there was a portrait model, not my favorite type, but also to practice painting, I added a blue sky background...

Sketching and post-processing

1、This model is not my type

2、But I also insist on drawing, and add grassland background for interest.

3、I went home, changed the hair, added a turban and drew a picture of the family dog

4、Referring to previous pastoral sketches and memories, the image of a herdsman is painted, holding a lamb

5、Refer to my prairie sketching and processing background

6、It's now the painting
