In November 1967, we went to
the Taosen Brigade of the Mandu Baolige Public Private Joint Venture
Ranch in Dongwu Banner to jump the queue. I lived in the Badai
family of the Eren Grassland, and he gave me an old white horse -
Badai Baole (all gelding horses need to be tamed at the age of 3
because they are difficult to tame after the age of 4).
Herdsmen usually have 3 horses, and stablemen have 5 horses. The
horses in the herd have owners and their names. When the horse was 3
years old, which herdsman trained it, and the color of the horse, is
called the name of the horse.
The old white horse is very
fat and honest. After riding for a while, I heard that each herder
has three horses, so I wanted to go to the herd and exchange for
another horse to ride.
1967
The herdsmen said that the
herd of horses in the brigade is located on the southwest side of
the Eren grassland, about ten miles away. I rode my horse
towards the southwest for a long time, and on the way, I saw the
camel cart of the herder picking up the bride. The red cloth wrapped
around the golden camel looked very beautiful.
1967
The leather robes and cloth belts of herdsmen are very beautiful.
1967
I
kept asking for directions, and finally found the ox cart and Dao Bo
of the Taosen team's stableman (only the Mongolian yurt top Taona,
not the simple felt tent of Hana). I sat inside the stableman's Dao
Bo, sketching the horses tied to the cart outside.
1969
In summer, the ox cart outside the herder's yurt.
